The Bower

London, UK
It’s 1991: queer life is dominated by HIV/AIDS and the disastrous fallout of Thatcher’s government. In a quiet corner of the English coastline, Seb takes his friend Terri to witness a triumphant celebration of queerness: Derek Jarman’s camp and playful canonization in his garden at Prospect Cottage. 30 years later, Terri takes her young employee Jude on a surprise trip to Dungeness, back to the very same spot that shaped her life. “The Bower” shines a light on how attitudes to the LGTBQ+ community and HIV have changed over decades and explores the idea of queer inheritance in this story of hope and friendship.
