“A Garden House,” pays tribute to the filmmaker’s great uncle - the late Benjamin Baldwin, an acclaimed interior designer and architect. Despite never having met him, Young dialogues with his ancestor Benjamin Baldwin, based on mutual queerness and a love of design, sanctuary, and nature. “A Garden House” explores queer homemaking, the need for a refuge away from prejudiced society, and the relationships between architecture and the natural world.
