Agua Dulce, CA, US
“Hard bop,” the offspring of the bebop jazz movement of the 1940’s and early ’50s, had a more bluesy feel using call and response musical riffs and a more danceable tempo and rhythm. This film, which incorporates processed analog video and hand processed 16mm film, expresses the vibrant energy of the musical form as well as the art movements from the same time. The score was composed and performed by Quist, Kasandra Woodring, and John Hawk.
